Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator who works as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received an undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing up in New York City. Mitchell began in the field of radio and television reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. Mitchell was a reporter at the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) located which was based in Washington DC. A few years later, she was general reporter at NBC News in Washington. The year 1980 marked the beginning of her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. Mitchell was promoted to Chief White House correspondent in 1992. As well as the chief foreign affairs Correspondent for NBC News. Mitchell has appeared as a guest on TV news show Meet the Press as a panelist and host. Mitchell was on an advisory panel during the debates of 1988 between George Bush (then president) and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell got married to Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded in 2005 her Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. And in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) recognized Mitchell for her work in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell started covering for the White House in 1981-1988, both during Ronald Reagan's presidency. Mitchell covered a wide range of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran Contra scandal, the tax reforms to the budget as well as arms control. She traveled together with President Ronald Reagan many times to summits and debate matters like and the Iran Contra scandal.
